Matt though, has focused mainly on the art side of his work. Shooting when and what, wherever. This has found him on the streets of the world during the middle of the night in 2 degrees looking for a good angle before the atmosphere changes (true story)!

Numerous adventures have ensued over the years with Matt always hunting for something new in his home city, the search continues, and no end to photography is near, it's all too much fun and the city, Melbourne, is too beautiful to think of stopping.

The rest of the world has beckoned. So since 1997 Matt has travelled as much as possible. Now the catalogue of work includes images from far-flung destinations. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vancover, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Beijing, London and New Zealand are some of the locations to be seen in the overseas section of the catalogue.

Is it all about Black and White? Some may think so. Oh contraire, there is a large collection of colour images that have not really seen much light-of-day. So in the "World of Colour" section a whole new side of Matt Irwin Photography can be discovered.

What else goes on in the world of Matt Irwin?

Matt has run a product, multimedia and video production company called Soup Kitchen since 1994. Soup Kitchen has created CD-ROMs, websites, TV-ads, documentaries, cards, wrapping paper, posters and more for a myriad of clients.

He has a keen passion for film, and over the years has been involved in the production of more than 30 short films, ads, doco's, training videos etc. A feature film looms (yeah, yeah), Matt has been working on it for a few years now... you never know.
